Our specialty
Trauma Therapy in Dunmore, PA & Online Across Pennsylvania
Specialized care for trauma — single-incident, complex, intergenerational, or the kind that doesn't yet have a name.
Is this for you?
People come to us for trauma-focused therapy for many reasons. A few of the most common:
- Something difficult or frightening happened, and it's still affecting your life.
- You experience flashbacks, hypervigilance, numbness, or trouble sleeping.
- You grew up in a household where you didn't feel safe — emotionally or physically.
- You've been told 'it wasn't that bad,' and yet you're still carrying it.
- You've tried talk therapy and want approaches that work with the body and nervous system, not just the story.
How we work
Our approach to trauma-focused therapy
Every clinician at SteadyRise is trained in trauma-attuned care. We don't treat trauma as a side topic — it's the lens we bring to all of our work. That means we move at a pace your nervous system can actually metabolize, and we don't ask you to relive what happened in order to heal from it.
We draw from a range of evidence-based modalities so we can match the approach to you, not the other way around. Some clients do best with body-based work, some with focused memory reprocessing, some with a blend over time.
Modalities
Approaches we draw from
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — a structured, evidence-based approach for processing distressing memories.
Brainspotting
Identifying and processing trauma stored in the subcortical brain through focused visual fields.
Somatic Therapies
Body-based approaches that help the nervous system release stored stress, complete interrupted stress responses, and find regulation.
Safe and Sound Protocol
A nervous-system intervention that uses filtered music to reduce stress and improve social engagement.
HeartMath+
Evidence-based techniques to build resilience and regulate emotions through heart-brain coherence.
Trauma-Attuned CBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy adapted with sensitivity for trauma survivors.
What sessions look like
Format & cadence
Trauma work is usually weekly, in 50-minute sessions. Some modalities (like EMDR intensives) may use longer formats. We talk through what each approach actually involves before starting anything — informed consent is part of the work.
Insurance & payment
Insurance acceptance varies by clinician — when you reach out, we'll match you with someone who accepts your plan or talk through other options together.
